The Blouvlei staff is very dedicated to work with the disabled learners. Many of whom have been at Blouvlei for several years. There are 14 teaching staff, including the principal.
 

• All teachers have a teaching diploma and five have the Diploma in Special Education for Mental Handicap.
• Blouvlei actively supports and encourages the professional development of staff.
• The school has five contractual drivers for transporting the learners.
• The school has one nurse, who amongst others has to fulfill the role of a social worker, psychologist, etc.
• The school has also one occupational therapist. In order to reach as many children as effectively as possible the occupational therapist works with groups of learners, individual learners and staff. By working with staff the therapist enables the educators to continue the programme with the learners.
